Bakerland is committed to building a better lifestyle for everyone through the development of land and the building of liveable communities. Started in 2012, we’re a family-owned and run company proud of our honesty, transparency, and loving what we do.
Based in Southwest Victoria, our initial focus has been subdivisions in the Geelong, Colac, and Surf Coast areas, but we’re now looking to expand across Victoria.
“Our passion is building vibrant and leafy communities for future generations to enjoy. We consider relationships central to what we do; we’re passionate about developing true connections with farmers and property owners, as well as the people who will ultimately live in our communities”.
Bakerland’s approach is genuine; what you see is what you get. We find this is especially important for land sales and helping landholders get the very best price for their land.
Before Bakerland was born, Steve played over 200 games over 12 years for St. Kilda Football Club. Now Steve helps thousands of people achieve their dreams through land sales and by building vibrant, liveable communities.
“I love working with landholders to achieve the best possible price when selling their land. We want to leave a legacy and have a positive impact on our local communities”.
It all began in 2012 when Mick undertook a small four-lot subdivision in his hometown of Colac, Victoria. From there, Mick realised an exciting opportunity; taking on a few more projects and kicking off the Bakerland vision.
In 2017, after Steve’s long AFL career at St. Kilda, he teamed up with his brother Mick to create Bakerland. With Steve’s equity and Mick’s extensive property expertise, their idea of building ‘better communities, better lifestyles’ was born.
By 2018, Steve and Mick had developed more than 20 one-acre lifestyle lots in Lethbridge, near Geelong. In this small country town, residents enjoyed large lots with amazing views across the Moorabool Valley while being close to the city.
Since then, Bakerland has evolved – taking on an equity partner, multiple projects, and a growing positive impact on people and communities across Victoria. Bakerland now owns and manages nine developments with a gross sales revenue surpassing $43 million in 2020.
